Short description.

The Department of Law enables you to study the challenges facing European law, public international law, and private law, with Ph.D.  opportunities across social, cultural, political, and economic topics. You can find more information about the EUI Law faculty research fields here.

Eligibility:

  1. The applicants must meet the minimum degree requirement which varies from country to country. You can find the list.
  2. The expected level of English proficiency is level C1. Required language certificate score:
IELTS From 7.5
TOEFL (IBT)* From 110
Cambridge Proficiency A/B/C
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) A/B

Candidates who speak English as a first language or who have written their thesis in English for completion of a degree from a university program entirely taught in English are exempt from submitting a certificate of English proficiency. More information about language requirements.

  2. Applicants are selected for interviews on the basis of their academic records and research proposal. The proposal must be written in English or French and no longer than 2500 words (including footnotes, references, and bibliography). Longer submissions may be excluded from further consideration.
