What is the job about?

The team of Legal editors and Legal writers will share their knowledge through high-end essays that we will publish monthly on our website for the world to read and learn from. We cover a variety of hot legal topics. The main goal of the ongoing project is to increase the number of quality academic writings on legal topics, encourage young lawyers to participate in academic writing, and lay the foundation of an online database on legal science. 

Legal writers will work on an essay or article and they should finalize it in one month period. Legal writers are free to choose their topics or the LAWELS team may provide the relevant topics to write.

Your responsibilities:

  • Provide a monthly article/essay within six months on legal issues of your choice or suggested by us, with an overall six articles/essays. Write an article/essay aligned with the requirements prescribed in the “General requirements and guidelines for articles” document provided by LAWELS.
  • Collaborate with your Legal editor to fix possible mistakes to make your article in perfect condition before publication.
  • Research, draft, and edit content for and about the legal industry.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research on the legal fields to achieve sustainable reading goals.

Requirements and skills:

  • Have a legal background (undergraduate, postgraduate in law or related field, active participation in the legal field etc.).
  • Have in-depth knowledge and interest in the legal field, excellent research and writing skills, as well as strong grammar and creative word choices.
  • Have strong knowledge about academic language and academic legal writing styles (referencing, citation, plagiarism etc.).
  • A minimum of one year of experience in writing/editing, preferably obtained by working on law-related content.
  • Be committed to LAWELS’s goals and mission to provide high-quality content to people who are curious and willing to learn.
  • Be sensitive and open to cultural, gender, religious, ethnic, national, and age differences.
  • Be able to work independently, and respect time commitments and schedules.
