The American Research Institute of the South Caucasus (ARISC) announces the fellowship program which determines the availability of small grants in support of research in the South Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia). The grant is intended to help offset research costs for student scholars in the South Caucasus. Grantees are expected to give an ARISC-sponsored public presentation on a subject related to their research upon completion of their project. The grantee will acknowledge ARISC in any publication or presentation that emerges from the research carried out during the grant.

Award Amount:

Research awards will be made for up to $300 each, to help cover transportation, accommodation, meals, and incidental expenses, and other expenses needed to assist a scholar’s research in South Caucasus.

 

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Being citizens of either Azerbaijan, Georgia, or Armenia
  • Enrolling in bachelor’s, master’s degree, or Ph.D. granting programs in Azerbaijan, Georgia, or Armenia (regarding bachelor’s degree, only students graduating in 2023 spring are eligible)
  • Preparing projects in all fields in the social sciences, humanities, and related sciences
