World Intellectual Property Day

World Intellectual Property Day provides a great chance to meet other people from around the world to reflect on how intellectual property contributes to the flourishing of the world art scene and enables technological innovation that drives human progress. In 2000, WIPO member states designated April 26 as World Intellectual Property Day, the day highlighted by the 1970 WIPO Convention, as a result of the development of widespread attention and concern for Intellectual Property.

World Intellectual Property Day is a chance to highlight the role that intellectual property rights such as patents, trademarks, industrial designs, and copyrights play in promoting innovation and creativity.

Intellectual property rights legally protect the progressive results of researchers, inventors, business leaders, designers, artists and others and provide the potential for inviolable economic profit from them.
