Short description
Workshop will discuss how to ensure effective compliance with the Digital Markets Act.
This workshop will address issues such as end-to-end encryption, security or the identification of users across different messaging services. Following the introductory remarks by the Commission, there will be several panels on specific practical questions related to compliance. The different panels will focus on topics such as the general framework and requirements to ensure effective interoperability as well as concrete, technical questions including the encryption of messages and security aspects, (personal) data collection, the identification of users, quality of interoperable services, system management and the integrity of the service. The agenda, together with the list of speakers will be published shortly.
The above issues will be briefly introduced in the respective panels of each workshop selected panel members before opening an all-inclusive discussion between all participants present physically or online. To facilitate the hybrid discussion, “sli.do” will be used in both events to collect and select questions from the audience. This will also allow the Commission to take account of issues that may have been raised but could not be addressed in the workshops due to time constraints.
The discussion during the workshop will be based on the exchange of non-confidential information and should not include any sensitive business information, since the workshops are open also to the public.
You can attend in person at the Commission’s Centre Albert Borschette or participate online through an interactive platform.
Due to capacity constraints, around 80 people for each workshop can be present in the room. Participation in the room will be limited to one representative per entity/organisation. Other attendees, including journalists, consultants, external lawyers, and other academics or students, are invited to join the workshops online, with the possibility to ask questions.
The workshops will take place in English. No interpretation will be provided.
